BANG BANG ORIENTAL food hall opens

The eagerly awaited Stiff +Trevillion designed Bang Bang Oriental, London’s biggest Asian foodhall, opens today in North London.

The eco-friendly venue celebrates Asia’s vibrant culture with over 30 individual kiosks offering an eclectic mix of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, Vietnamese, Taiwanese and Malaysian cuisine. This  sophisticated and affordable food court, seating up to 450 guests, will bring the energy and authentic vibe of an Asian Street Food Market to the capital.

The exciting new hub is also home to the stylish Golden Dragon flagship restaurant which opened on 2 July 2017. The 300 cover restaurant offers dim sum lunches with an extensive traditional Chinese menu in the evening. Golden Dragon is offering a 20% discount until 15 July 2017.

Bang Bang Oriental’s Grand Opening Event will take place on 10th July  from 1pm until 3pm. There will be an official ribbon cutting ceremony and guests can enjoy lion dancing and live entertainment. Commencing on 11 July, through to 24 July 2017, Bang Bang Oriental will offer a 20% discount for customers visiting the kiosks in the new Foodhall.

Chatime日出茶太

Global Taiwanese Bubble Tea brand Chatime will open its newest shop at Bang Bang Oriental. Using state-of-the-art machines and 30 years of tea manufacturing experience, Chatime brews fresh, high quality bubble teas with a selection of innovative flavours. Chatime has stores in Asia, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, US and Canada, as well as in the UK.

WONDERFUL PATISSERIES 名品中西日餅屋

WONDERFUL PATISSERIES is renowned for its delicious Oriental desserts and is the brains behind the Instagram craze – green tea ice cream served in a fish shaped cone. WONDERFUL PATISSERIES brings its China Town favourites, such as Japanese cheese cake, tiger roll and pandan rolls, to Bang Bang Oriental.

Four Seasons文興酒家

This Bayswater and Chinatown institution is famous for its long half-hour queues to sample its renowned Hong Kong-style Cantonese roast duck – which has been named as ‘the best roast duck in the world’ by the Financial Times. 

Sukaria

Sukaria brings a new twist to traditional Asian cooking skills with its Cantonese, Hakka and Malaysian dishes. Sukaria serves Street Food dishes such as braised pork knuckles; and Mee Rojak with crispy bang bang chicken. 

UMi

UMi specialises in Sushi, Maki, Freshly sliced Sashimi and Tempura as well as dessert favourites with a Japanese twist, overseen by Head Chef consultant Jonathan Deddis – who has appeared on Bake Off’s ‘Crème de la Crème’ competition. 

CAFÉ LA VIET

Taking inspiration from Hanoi’s bustling old quarters and the dazzling streets of Saigon, CAFÉ LA VIET introduces guests to a Vietnamese communal dining experience serving fast, fresh and nutritious dishes. Seasonal and local Vietnamese dishes include hearty bowls of pho and vermicelli; and a selection of Com rice dishes including Com Suon Bo – Marinated beef ribs with rice, salad and pickles.

Uncle Chilli四叔巴蜀風味魚湯米線

Uncle Chilli brings the heat to Bang Bang Oriental with the flavours of Sichuan. Sichuan is a province in southwest China known for its flavoursome dishes encompassing garlic and chilli peppers. Not for the faint hearted, Uncle Chilli’s fiery dishes incorporate the unique flavour of the Sichuan pepper. 

LongJi Hong Kong Restaurant香港茶餐廳

Bang Bang Oriental welcomes LongJi to the UK – the outlet already has 17 branches in China. LongJi showcases the best of contemporary Asian cuisine with a Western twist with influences from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Korea, and Singapore. Tasty dishes include Macau Pork Chop Burger, Yeung Chow Fried Rice, French Toast and Portuguese Pork Chop with Spaghetti.

For diners looking for a Dim Sum fix at any time of the day, One 68 DIM SUM is the ideal destination. One 68 DIM SUM brings back memories of Hong Kong with its delicate dumplings, fluffy buns and endless cups of Chinese tea.

Little Thai Silk

Bang Bang Oriental welcomes Southwark’s favourite Thai restaurant, Thai Silk, which offers authentic and healthy Thai cuisine. Top favourites include Spicy mince pork rice with egg, Mango papaya salad, and Thai sausage. Thai Silk’s innovative menu combines traditional ingredients with first class cooking techniques. 

Bánh&Chè

Bánh&Chè serves traditional Vietnamese culinary delights with a French influence. Fusion dishes include Xoi sticky rice, Gỏicuốn Vietnamese spring rolls, and Bahn Mi – chicken, pork, duck or aubergine baguettes, washed down with authentic Vietnamese iced coffee.

Ramen Samurai – Ryu  麵屋武士龍

Ramen Samurai Ryu is a famous Hong Kong chain of Ramen noodles from the Godfather of Ramen – Yamagishi Kazuo, who was the inventor of Tsukemen. Guests can feast on various Ramen incarnations including original, garlic and spicy flavour, served traditionally with egg and chicken in chicken broth. 

Taiwanese Street Food台灣食尚

For an authentic taste of Taipei, Taiwanese Street Food’s menu focuses on traditional dishes served in Taiwanese night markets. Dishes on offer include Taiwanese style fried chicken breast, Crispy chicken balls, Grilled onion pancake, and Meat filled steamed buns. 

Yaki Ya Grill Japan

Yaki Ya Grill Japan serves traditional Yakitori grill, which is one of the most popular delicacies in Japan. The dishes will be prepared using specialist equipment from Japan and served with authentic Yaki Ya sauce which takes 48 hours to prepare. The traditional Japanese cuisine includes Grilled squid, Shishamo, Salmon, Shiitake mushroom, and Donburi, as well as a selection of bento boxes. 

Tibb’s FRANKIE

Tibb’s FRANKIE serves a mouth-watering variety of wraps which take inspiration from Lebanese pita breads, served with a variety of Indian fillings. Guests can join Bang Bang Oriental for a ‘Janchi’ and feast on Bimbimbap and Deopbap, which are some of Korea’s best-known dishes.

Bamboo Hut竹林小屋

Head to the buzzing streets of Beijing with Bamboo Hut andits exotic Chinese street food dishes! Bamboo Hut creates an authentic and intense Chinese street food experience with its delectable dishes including Sheng Jian Bao (Pan-fried buns), Pan-fried pork pies and burgers. 

Xi Home 喜家

Xi Home transports diners to the Far East with its tasty traditional Chinese Dumplings using authentic Chinese recipes. Xi Home’s specialist chefs create delicate dumplings including Pickled pork dumplings, Shrimp, leek and egg dumplings, and Pork, shrimp and cabbage dumplings.

ICHIBAN美味一番

ICHIBAN brings Japan’s favourite delicacies to Bang Bang Oriental with its classic katsu curry and boiled Eel in special sauce. Yakitori will also be on offer including BBQ Eel and BBQ scallops, as well as traditional Teriyaki dishes. 

CITROPIA CAFÉ果城

After sampling the sizzling dishes of Bang Bang Oriental, guests can cool down at CITROPIA CAFE which specialises in fruit juice, smoothies and flavoured Earl Grey teas. Cream cheese desserts will also be available in fruity flavours including Blueberry, Mango and Strawberry. 

The Pearl Lounge

Guests can unwind in the opulent bar area located within the food hall. The Pearl Lounge offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including a global selection of beers, ciders, wines, Champagnes, spirits and cocktails. 

Wonder Bake

This Oriental patisserie will serve an extensive range of egg tarts with global influences from Hong Kong, China and Portugal. Exquisite flavours include Hong Kong original, Hong Kong coconut, Portuguese egg tart, Japanese original, and Japanese green tea.

Coconut Tree 

Coconut Tree brings a taste of Kuala Lumpur to Bang Bang Oriental with traditional Malaysian dishes. Coconut Tree will be serving a large selection of halal dishes which will be served on green plates and bowls with green cutlery. This guarantees that these dishes are halal and have not been in contact with pork or alcohol.

 

There will also be indoor and outdoor spaces for community events, dancing classes, and cultural activities such as Lion dancing. The community spaces will be available for residents to hire for free for up to 60 hours a week. There will also be a children’s play area.

‘Bang Bang Oriental Foodhall’ translates as ‘Good Good Oriental Food Hall’ in Mandarin. The venue will be open all day from 10.30am until 9.30pm.
