Our history

Preserve the old, but know the new

(Chinese Proverb)

The Legacy of Taste was started in 2008 to celebrate and protect the heritage of Chinese cuisine. Today it promotes a much wider spectrum of Chinese culture including fashion, lifestyle, destinations and insights about China.

image01Chinese cuisine will always be a major part of what we do. Every year since our inception we have invited members of the public to nominate and vote for their favourite Chinese restaurants.

The top voted restaurants undergo assessment by a specially selected judging panel that includes top Chinese and British TV chefs, Michelin starred restaurateurs and hospitality experts for global brands.

Only the very best are presented with a Legacy of Taste Pagoda, an award which was specifically designed to challenge the Chinese restaurant community to continuously improve their standards, and offer their customers the best possible dining experience.
