Tsingtao Beer recently hosted UK journalists at the notorious Qingdao International Beer Festival (aka Asian Oktoberfest), which is home to its flagship brewery.
After some brewpub research in Beijing, the group headed to Qingdao and trekked up the Laoshan Mountain to see the source of the spring water, which Tsingtao uses to brew its beer.
Then it was off to the beer festival. The UK media were treated like celebrities as the Chinese revelers queued to have selfies with the journalists. Tsingtao was consumed in its many guises: IPA, fruity, China’s lower alcohol beer and the rare 1903 – some even swigged it from a carrier bag.
